updates. i /did/ promise i was going to blog more this year.
i just got back from richmond fetching my transcripts so i could transfer to the local community college and get myself back on track as per society dictates every twentysomething should be, productive and well-behaved. this morning i went to tidewater and registered for an english class, to round out an associates degree, hopefully which is enough to get into the restaurant business. the plan is to start out slow then build up to whatever. ICYMI my brain was a hot mess these past 5 years and i’m going to better places.
got to hang out with the boy i had a crush on while i was there. let’s call him luke. we pretty much hung out three days, and slowly i started to see that he wasn’t what i exactly wanted in a boyf. also, he’s not gay. he’s not gay. they usually never are *sigh* like, it’s fine cuz’ he’s not my type i suppose. he didnt respond well to eating sushi (i won’t get into that) but we did go to the gay club with a few frands and danced for hours.
i’ve been feeling really melancholy/ depressed lately, and i don’t know how or who to tell so i haven’t really told anyone. yep.
cousin’s in town and we had pho yesterday and that was delicioussss. tonight we saw transformers 4 and i won’t even get started on how patriarchal-
JAN MESS IN YO’ FACE
My contribution to this year’s Secret 7” event! The track I chose this year was Jake Bugg’s Strange Creatures. To me this song feels like a wet cloudy early morning in the middle of nowhere. I quite like it.
The version I sent to S7 is a bit different than the final one, since I had to rush a bit to make their deadline and revised it a tiny bit afterwards. This is the wonderful stranger who bought my cover (before I even had a chance to see it on the shelf!) - thank you, wonderful stranger!
There are still plenty of one-of-a-kind vinyls available to be bought online - it’s all for a great cause, so if that interests you at all, you should check it out.

how do you tell someone
first, you laugh
and then you feel guilty
for you’re about to
ruin their day
and then you apologize
and then you
change the topic
and that’s how you tell
